I received my Jeffrey Campbell "Mary Roks" a little over a week ago and pretty much haven't removed them from my feet at all. I swear, they are so comfortable... it's like you're walking in flats. (Even my friend who despises any elevation in the heel area said they were comfy.)
I'm in love.
Also, stopped at Forever 21 for mini-accessories run on my way home. The booty:
I had to show off the new ring stand I got from Urban Outfitters, so I used it to to display new rings! And the robot necklace... I die. Honestly, I grabbed before I even realized what I was looking at. Definitely my new favourite accessory.
Anyways, it's Caribana this weekend in T.O. and a lot of craziness is going down... Including me seeing Drake in concert! I am so excited, you can't even understand. There will definitely be pictures =)
Have an awesome weekend (long weekend for my fellow Canadians!)

Are You Satisfied With An Average Life?
Some inspiration:
I've been wanting to tattoo for a while... this is one of the more interesting ones I've come across which I'm actually considering getting.
Seriously considering making my own DIY Lego headband, or at least a Lego themed accesory. This headband is one of the cutest I've seen in a while.

This Sentence Will Ruin/Save Your Life.
Forever 21 tee, H&M bag, Aldo ring, Ardene's belt, Dad's FCUK shirt worn as skirt, vintage cowboy boots.
This is what what I wore Saturday night, the night I thought I was going to see Inception but ended walking into a packed show and having my ticket refunded. Good times.
Got the whole "Wear-A-Men's-Shirt-As-A-Skirt!" idea from one of Sandra's posts at 5 inch and up. The girl is a genius, seriously. And it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself. (Although my father was less than pleased and my mother "doesn't get kids these days.")
My precious photographer (and one of my best friends):
Also, I have a thing for street signs, no matter what they have written on them... so shiny.
(SLOW = ME. LOOK AT HOW COOL I AM. YOU DON'T WITNESS THIS EVERYDAY, PEOPLE.)
P.S. The title is from a Born Ruffians song - it's an A+ lesson in discontinuous thoughts if I've ever seen one. Much like this post.

I Know You've Been Burned, But Every Fire Is A Lesson Learned.
Received my new Vivenne Westwood
I currently own like, 4 rings, I kid you not. I'm honestly just really picky about them, and I just went through an accessories overhaul in which I threw out all my old stuff that was missing a side/tarnished/not my style anymore. Aspiring to have a ring collection more like this:
Or these chicks:
All images from tumblr via Asymmetrica.
And while I'm at it, check out Asymmetricera (where I got most of those ring photos from). A style blog run by Sinead & Mychelle; two girls who inspire me daily not just through their own ensembles but also through kick-ass photos they find throughout the net of items & looks most of us could only dream about.
Anyways, off to buy this ring stand from Urban Outfitters:
Here's to hoping it'll help inspire me in my quest to become a fabulous bag lady with way too many rings.
P.S. Updated my sidebar with blogs I've recently fallen in love with. Canadians are bolded because we're too sexy for our shirts.

Some Food For Thought
The shirt film below, "The Colour of Beauty", talks about the blatant racism in the fashion industry towards ethnic models (the film focuses on a black model named Renee Thompson).
How do YOU feel about the industry's narrow, pinhole-like vision of beauty? Where do you feel it is necessary to diversify, to what extent, and what is your reasoning? What can we as consumers do about it?
Everyone's thoughts on the subject are appreciated.

Can You Teach Me How To Feel Real? Can You Turn My Power On?
Chaneling my inner 90's grunge child:
I may have built this outfit around my Docs - I was pretty excited to get them, not gonna lie. The thing about Docs is because they're so big and heavy, I'm only really comfortable pairing them with dresses (the shorter, the better.) And I'm trying to work on wearing dresses more during the day - which (for me) would have been unthinkable a year ago - so this outfit was a good exercise in trying new looks. I'm pretty happy with the final product.
Tristan vest, Garage dress, H&M tights & sunglasses, Forever 21 earrings, flea market ring & necklace, vintage Docs.

"Oh yes, I love to do shoes. I'm not a fetishist but I love to do shoes."
For those of you who aren't from Toronto, Kensignton Market is the city's go-to vintage/thrift/flea market hub - and officially my new favourite place on Earth. Some of my recent buys:
Got both the cowboy boots and the Docs - two shoes I have been coveting forever - at Cinderella Vintage (54 Kensington Ave). I am honestly the pickiest, most indecisive shopper ever, but the store owner was awesome - he handled both my never-made-up mind and gigantic feet with class and great service.
Got this aztec print backpack at an army surplus store on Baldwin. Safe to say that it pretty much hasn't left my back since I bought it.
So in love with this Boy Scouts of America shirt - the little details in the badges are what make it so cool and special to me. Whenever I wear it, I wonder about the boy scout who it belonged to. All I know is that he was from Minnesota.
Graphic tees make my life, and these were particularly satisfying - an excellent lesson in comparing and contrasting, don't you agree? Karl & Weezy couldn't be more different but I have come to love them both. Although in the end I kept the Karl tank, and gave my sister the Weezy one - she must have liked it a lot, because she stopped breathing for about five minutes when I gave it to her.
I'll def be back there soon...
P.S. The title quote is by the one and only Karl Lagerfeld, just in case you were wondering.

Kush Rolled, Glass Full, I Prefer the Better Things.
A weekend away with the friends that showed no matter what does (or doesn't) happen, it's always a good time if you're with your best friends.

Oh, Canadiana
I am always behind the ball on these things. Above are pictures from my latest baking adventure - maple leaf sugar cookies for Canada Day (July 1st for the foreigners.) And no, I didn't have enough cookies to spell Canada, hence why the pictures are in sections. Ironically, I had just given away three cookies - one for my sister, her friend and my Dad - and eaten one myself before taking these photos. And I was four cookies short when spelling Canada... kindness is a killer, eh?
Also, Canada Day being on a Thursday REALLY messed with my head. Hoping it doesn't happen again any time soon but too lazy to check a calendar.
P.S. Happy July 4th for my American neighbours down south! Y'all do it big down there.
