A Human to a Mob, to a King, to a God?
This is probably an appropriate time to mention how much I suck at blogging. I've had this post queued up to post for almost two weeks now.
Alas, they've been a ridiculously busy to weeks. I got a pretty intense new piercing (will share soon!), moved back to Kingston, started the new job, started school in a new program (newly minted Psych major right here) and survived Frosh Week festivities, which I consider an achievement in and of itself.
There are so many great things about returning to school that I almost forgot about the studying part. I should probably get back to that...
P.S. Thanks to Hales (blog/music blog/tumblr/twitter) for taking these photos! And check out her blog, it's certainly worth a read.

Cole World
H&M Waistcoat, Forever XXI top, Bongo Jeans, MBMJ Flats, Vintage Coach "Willis" Satchel.
Things this outfit taught me:
a) I had truly forgotten the joys of non-skinny leg jeans
b) Lace tops, even with a waistcoat on top, will definitely get you noticed
c) I might actually be fine with this whole 70s revival trend thing... in very, very small doses.
That aside, today is my last day in Toronto! Tomorrow, I'm heading back to Kingston once again for the start of a new school year. While I'm pretty sad to be leaving my favourite place in the world, I would be lying to you if I didn't say that I am excited beyond belief to go back to studying, partying, seeing my uni friends and generally living student life (ridiculously laid-back at times, and with stress levels completely through the roof at others.)
But before all that, today I'm taking my sister downtown for a little sisterly bonding day, and tonight we're seeing J. Cole live! I'll leave you with this; single shot videos make my life.

And Once You've Had The Best, You Can't Do Better
H&M Linen Blazer, Mendocino Striped Blouse, Forever 21 Jeans, Bongo Jeans, Mango Bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs flats.
When I bought this blazer, all I could do was revel in it's beauty (I'm kind of obsessed with boyfriend blazers.) Once I got home however, I started having second thoughts - not exactly prime timing, since I bought it while in the States and was now at home standing in my very much Canadian closet. But I suddenly started to panic - It's white, won't it get dirty?! Linen gets so wrinkly! The texture won't match anything! Some of that may be true, but the blazer rises above all that foolishness - and it matches with almost everything, strangely enough. Thank you H&M gods, for creating a variation of boyfriend blazer that I can wear through the summer without getting raised eyebrows from passerbys.
Or at least more than I already do. I'm weird, and it tends to catch people's attention. I'm going to stop

I Believe That Life Is a Prize, But To Live Doesn't Mean You're Alive.
First order of business: Leandra Medine is my goddess and The Man Repeller my bible. I dedicate this post to her.
Although I will never be as proficient in repulsing the male species through my fashion choices as The Man Repeller, I chose three key "man-repelling" elements to incorporate into today's outfit:
Also, I have decided to take up crochet & knitting - the perfect hobbies to accompany me when I graduate from man-repeller to spinster. After all, isn't that where this is all going?
Aritzia sweater, Bongo jeans, American Apparel tank, Forever XXI scarf, scarletbegonia11 @ Etsy necklace, Asos earrings & ring.

- Birth Control Glasses
- Weapons-as-Jewellery -- spike earrings, brass knuckles/double finger ring, and bullet necklace.

I Like My Beats Loud, And My Bass Down Low.
American Apparel dress, Aritzia sweater, Hue tights, Forever XXI necklace.
I think this is an outfit very befitting of a Canadian girl in the midst of winter. The only clothing craving I have experienced this winter was for a warm, thick, knitted sweater - the kind that you imagine wearing at the cabin, sitting by the fire and drinking hot cocoa. (This sweater totally fulfilled that longing.)
I love buying something and being completely obsessed with it - for me, this is always the mark of a good purchase. Nothing frees me from the guilt of buying an expensive item more than getting a ridiculous amount of use out of that piece - at least it was money well spent, right?
I'm going to use 2011 to completely overhaul my closet. It's full of cheap shit that I don't even like - getting dressed in the morning is a pain in the ass. I'm getting to the point in my life where I'd much rather have a closet a third of the size of my current closet, filled with well made things that I love, than my current closet (filled with shit that I'm rather apathetic towards.) Anyone else feel that way?

All Black Everything (Again)
Urban Outfitters tunic, Costa Blanca shorts, Hue tights, Forever 21 earrings, thrifted leather belt, ring & necklace from flea market.
Getting details shots on Photobooth is kind a of a bitch. Sorry for the rather alarming last shot, lol.
Another all black look - I'm trying not to bore you guys but all black is just so easy. This outfit definitely got me a few "WTF is she wearing?" stares today, which is strange because everything I wore today was pretty standard Uni wear - although maybe not in the way I wore it. This UO tunic is too short be worn on its own (or even with leggings, in my opinion... I've tried) so I chose to add black shorts under it to make a it little less scandalous. To be honest, it's actually more clear in the pictures than in real life that I'm wearing shorts. Short version of this story: people were confused. I was most certainly asked if I was wearing a skort.
But back to all black everything - it's awesome. I have a friend who dresses only in monochrome. A look at her closet:
I'm seriously jealous. Imagine how easy it would be to get dressed in the morning? Every time I look at her closet, I seriously consider converting... but one look in my closet at all the clothing I love (ranging over every colour of the rainbow) is enough to change my mind back.
P.S. If you want to know what shoes I'm wearing, just imagine the above outfit with these boots. I wear them almost everyday - so worth the money.

All Black Everything.
I am still super bummed about my camera - but on the bright side, midterms are (finally) over! Now only 3 weeks until finals. Awesome.
I hate that at Photobooth quality you can't even see how sheer this shirt is. But onto happy, positive thoughts. Now that it's November, am I allowed to make a Christmas wishlist? Or listen to Christmas music? If you said no, too bad. I already did.
H&M jacket and sheer shirt, Bongo jeans, Forever 21 cross necklace, Frye boots, rings from flea market & eBay.

The Quiet Scares Me 'Cause It Screams The Truth.
A couple outfits from the past few days:
So really shitty news: my camera no longer works, and I am too poor to buy a new one. Which leaves me at a loss for how to keep this blog going. For now, I'm just going to take outfit pictures on Photobooth until I can find a better solution.
I know everything that could possibly be said about the H&M x Lanvin collection has been said, so I'll keep this short. I was one of those bloggers who were jizzing their pants over the prospect of this collection - but on the models, the collection was rather underwhelming. After going and looking at the collection online however, I'm particularly loving the yellow one-shouldered dress and cream skirt pictured above. Although seeing as how I won't even be in Toronto when the collection debuts there is a fat chance of me ever getting my hands either.

The Grey Before The Storm
I feel like I haven't posted in forever. Between Thanksgiving, being sick, school kicking my ass and actually having a social life I feel like I've barely had time to breathe over the last two weeks.
All grey outfits are my favourite. Wore this first look later in the afternoon to lunch with a friend and for other errands which included replacing a lost driver's license (annoying) and getting a new Blackberry! (Awesome.) I got the dress above for 5 dollars at an outlet, and I'm in love... so obviously I had to buy it in black too. Also, I'm wearing the Frye boots from this post. I've actually worn them every day since I bought them two weeks ago - I'm definitely getting my money's worth.
I wore this second look earlier in the day to classes for International Suit Up Day - an event inspired by "How I Met Your Mother", a show which I never actually watched. To be honest, I just liked the idea of wearing a tie (although it kind of made me feel like Avril Lavigne circa 2002.)
P.S. I'd like to state that I'm quite proud of myself for keeping it classy and monochromatic the entire day, even right down to the nail polish.

It Takes A Muscle To Fall In Love
Everyone has that outfit that they fall back on when they're too lazy to put something together or don't have the time - for me, it's this American Apparel dress. I have it in both green and black (which is kind of embarassing.) It's comfortable, warm (key for Canadian winters) and simple - perfect for a student who occasionally wakes up only 20 minutes before her 8.30 morning class. But today I wanted to dress it up a bit, do a little something different.
I'll consider this outfit an exercise in pattern and texture. I love that it's a combination of items which I wouldn't normally put together - but somehow it works. Definitely the most boho outfit I've worn in a while.

Do Right And Kill Everything
Urban Outfitters top, Torrid jacket, Bongo jeans, Converse shoes, Forever 21 necklace, rings from Ebay and fleamarket.
Friday's outfit. This jacket is one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. I really never get to wear it though, because (as you can see) it's bright, neon pink - which isn't the easiest colour to work with. I might have ended up looking like a hipster, but that's okay. I've decided that on Fridays, I'll let my inner hipster roam wild and free. She's been locked up far too long.

She Don't Really Want Your Love - She Wants Your Credit Card.
My "Susie Homemaker" outfit:
Wore this on Thursday, although in the interest of full disclosure during the day on campus I wore it with Docs, and these shoes later on when I was running errands. This outfit makes me feel like a bit of a cupcake - not entirely sure how that makes sense, I just know how I feel.
New obsession:
Forever 21 bow-tie ring & skirt, secondhand black tee, Simply Vera tights, Payless heels and fleamarket necklace.
