"Those Are Some Cool Galaxy Pants."

American Apparel Circle Scarf and Fisherman Knit Sweater, H&M Sheer Button-up, Guess Coat, Black Milk Leggings, Cambridge Satchel Co. Satchel, Frye Engineer 12R Boots

Yesterday, I finally received my galaxy leggings in the mail from Black Milk. I love them, but they make me feel like a fifteen year old who hopped out of the Skins cast or something... I haven't decided if it's a good thing or not. In addition, I've always been a steadfast advocate of the belief that leggings are not pants but these have me **questioning everything** - mostly because they're so loud that they're impossible to style as tights. The excessive amount of stares and side-eye I got today while wearing these wasn't helping matters either.

tl;dr version: I'm in a very conflicting love affair with my "galaxy pants" (as one girl referred to them today.)

In other news, a fashion publication at my school called Muse Magazine printed a short piece on my little corner of the web. (Read here, page 35.) To the geniuses at Muse, thank you for actually taking the time to write about my abandoned dumpster baby of a fashion blog. It's much appreciated.

P.S. This music video is making my life.

On Those Back To School Tips

Back at Uni, starting third year, and officially scared shitless. People thought I was crazy for choosing Neuroscience as my specialization and now I see why. My first week isn't even over yet and I can tell this year is going to be the most stressful yet.

Photoboothed my outfit out of laziness:

Bongo jeans, Dynamite Blazer, Forever 21 scarf and blouse, Guess? bracelet, H&M rings.

I dunno if you noticed but new glasses! Got oversized frames in a spirit of academia. Not sure if they're working but it's the thought that counts, right? Also, the messenger bag was my school bag in third grade, and now I'm using it again in third year. Shows that when you (or your lovely parents) spend money on quality stuff, it WILL last you forever.

Contemplating putting up pictures of my new room since I'm pretty proud of it - spent the last week organizing it since I got back to school. It's crazy how much you can fit in a room slightly larger than the average closet.

Oh Shit! It's That Ugly Dress Your Mom Bought

We all have one. The ugly/old/unflattering dress/top/sweater that your mom/aunt/grandma gave you... And now she wants you to wear it to assorted family functions and gatherings, as she doesn't want you to be "following behind me like a ragamuffin" (as per my mother.)

Gap dress.

The dress is unflattering, to say the least. But I will be the first to admit that my ugly dress is definitely not the worst around. So when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or in this case, a cute outfit.

Gap dress, American Apparel belt, Zara jacket, Forever 21 ring, Guess earrings, B2 silver flats (not pictured).

I think I did pretty well. My cousin did tell me I looked like a Barbie but for once, I'm gonna take that as compliment (partly because I'm able to reassure myself that she must be delusional - because I am very far from plastic.)

Just to Stay in the Corner of Your Heart.

Outfit Post for 2010.03.11.
(I thought I'd start giving them real names instead of systematically naming them, but since I'm bad with names I'm warning you in advance that they will likely all be song lyrics.)

American Apparel Headband & Afrika Pocket Frock (worn as shirt). Dish jeans. Converse Shoes. Lola's Room blazer. H&M necklace. Guess? bracelet.

So I know my eyebrows are incredibly unruly, but I kind of like it. Also, this American Apparel dress is by far one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe, but I only ever wear it clubbing. I thought I'd try to adapt it for day wear.

I'm supposed to studying for my Anatomy practical tomorrow morning, but it feels so useless - it's so hard to study theory for a practical, because no matter how well you know the theory there's a very large chance it won't translate over to real life.

I just need it to be St. Patty's; I need midterms to finally be OVER.
