I Believe That Life Is a Prize, But To Live Doesn't Mean You're Alive.

First order of business: Leandra Medine is my goddess and The Man Repeller my bible. I dedicate this post to her.

Aritzia sweater, Bongo jeans, American Apparel tank, Forever XXI scarf, scarletbegonia11 @ Etsy necklace, Asos earrings & ring.

Although I will never be as proficient in repulsing the male species through my fashion choices as The Man Repeller, I chose three key "man-repelling" elements to incorporate into today's outfit:
Mehhhhhh, needs more: animal prints / socks-with-sandals / fur / feathers / turbans / drop-crotch pants / clothing that looks like vaginas (and other de-sexifying accessories.)

Also, I have decided to take up crochet & knitting - the perfect hobbies to accompany me when I graduate from man-repeller to spinster. After all, isn't that where this is all going?

She Said "Look Ma, No Hands."

So apparently I have friends in real life who actually check my blog on a regular basis. You guys are awesome. Thanks for getting me off my ass and saving me from being a shitty blogger (that is, shittier than I already am.)

  1. Celine Box Bag in Fluorescent Yellow Python
  2. Alexander McQueen Studded Britannia Clutch
  3. Proenza Schouler Large Suede PS1 in Smoke
  4. Proenza Schouler Large PS1 in Turquoise Mochilla
  5. Hermes Constance
  6. Mulberry Tillie
  7. Celine Large Boston Bag

Yesterday I was having a conversation on the bus with my housemate about our dream designer accessories - during this conversation, I asked if I was crazy for actually aspiring to eventually buy handbags that cost at least $2000. To this, she replied something like "No. Ride public transit. You'll save the money soon enough."

My consensus is we're both insane, but that's quite alright.

I Like My Beats Loud, And My Bass Down Low.

American Apparel dress, Aritzia sweater, Hue tights, Forever XXI necklace.

I think this is an outfit very befitting of a Canadian girl in the midst of winter. The only clothing craving I have experienced this winter was for a warm, thick, knitted sweater - the kind that you imagine wearing at the cabin, sitting by the fire and drinking hot cocoa. (This sweater totally fulfilled that longing.)

I love buying something and being completely obsessed with it - for me, this is always the mark of a good purchase. Nothing frees me from the guilt of buying an expensive item more than getting a ridiculous amount of use out of that piece - at least it was money well spent, right?

I'm going to use 2011 to completely overhaul my closet. It's full of cheap shit that I don't even like - getting dressed in the morning is a pain in the ass. I'm getting to the point in my life where I'd much rather have a closet a third of the size of my current closet, filled with well made things that I love, than my current closet (filled with shit that I'm rather apathetic towards.) Anyone else feel that way?

The Most Wonderful Time of The Year

Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas! For this post I decided to try something different - instead of photos, the outfit I wore Christmas Day will be shown in the video below. Enjoy!

Vero Moda dress, Kensie overcoat, Hue tights, Jeffrey Campbell "Pixie" wedges.

I know, my wedges are super dirty! Note to self: always clean shoes before shooting in HD...

Obligatory Christmas Wish List

So, exam period is finally over, and I barely made it out alive. Now it's the Holiday season, but I'm not that hyped for the Holidays. But on with the obligatory Christmas wish list post:

  1. Fujifilm Instax Mini -- I have a Polaroid - and no film. An instant camera system with widely available film would be highly appreciated.
  2. Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb -- Possibly the best perfume on Earth.
  3. Nixon Watch, "The Time-Teller" -- I've been looking a gold menswear-inspired watch forever; this one is perfect. It's minimal, classy, and best of all: affordable. (For a watch.)
  4. Lillan Crowe "Spearhead" Ring -- Suffered from a major ring obsession this year. This one would complete the collection - that way I can move on to a new obsession in 2011. Current candidates include: blazers, silk blouses and designer bags.
  5. Nikon D90 -- I seriously need a dSLR. The amount of time I spend daydreaming about my future camera is unhealthy, in my opinion.
  6. Sorel "Joan of Artic" Winter Boots -- A girl's gotta keep her feet warm... Canadian winters are no joke.

I think my lack of enthusiasm with Christmas has to do with the fact that it's also my birthday. I turn 20 on Saturday, and I'm excited to leave my teenage years behind me forever. But December 25th is Christmas first, and my birthday second. I can't help but feel a little forgotten sometimes.

P.S. In my absence, I became a Polyvore addict. That was during exam period - worst timing ever. I doubt anything is more appealing to fashion addict than an infinite imaginary closet full of designer goods - except maybe a real infinite closet full of designer goods. Check it out here.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL.
